Ways to get involved:
Sewing Class
Building relationships through creating together. Teachers and students meet to practice basic sewing skills, collaborate on sewing projects, and make new friends!
Adult English Class
Beginning and intermediate English classes meet several times a week to develop language skills and build cross-cultural relationships.
Community Cooking Group
Connecting through food and culture. Our cooking groups meets weekly to share recipes, make a meal, and eat together. We take turns hosting and sharing a food that is special to our family or culture.
Homework Help
Tutors meet one-on-one with school aged children to help with homework and build on the skills they are learning in school.
Welcome Crew
Our Welcome Crews help set up apartments for newly arrived immigrant families. As a community, we pool our resources to collect furniture and necessities to create a comfortable home for our newest neighbors. Welcome Crews help with collecting and moving furniture, small home improvement projects, providing transportation as needed, and meeting other needs as they arise.Summer Soccer and Art Nights
Soccer and Art Nights are a wonderful way to connect with community and have fun with the whole family! These nights are hosted at various apartment complexes by local churches. As the name implies, we play soccer, do art projects, and spend time getting to know our neighbors. Email Jenny to find out how to sponsor a Soccer and Art Night.
Summer Reading Circles
Summer Reading Circles include blankets, books, snacks, and bubbles! We set up for an hour in a park and spend time reading books with kids, enjoying a small snack, and then playing together. These circles can be hosted by a small group of friends or your family. Email Jenny to find out how to sponsor a reading circle.
