A Biblical foundation for extending welcome to the foreigner. Participants of this 3-week course will be equipped to offer a biblical foundation for how to respond to foreigners.
What does the bible have to say about how we treat foreigners? This 3-week class (or half-day seminar style class) approaches scripture through the lens of the four overarching themes of the grand narrative and gives a brief biblical history of migration, looks at key passages that call us to welcome and care for the foreigner, defines immigration terms, and discusses a brief overview of the U.S. Immigration system and humanitarian pathways. Though we recognize that the topic of immigration involves differing perspectives, it’s most important to understand how God feels about it and how He is asking us to personally respond.

This language learning opportunity offers a free half-day training on the Growing Participator Approach. A second option is a paid 14-week class, taught by native speakers of various refugee languages.
There are two options for this language learning opportunity. The first option, The Method training, is a free half-day training on the Growing Participator Approach, or GPA. GPA is a set of activities and methods that can be applied to learn any language. You’ll leave with some activities you could try tomorrow to learn some words or phrases in your immigrant neighbor’s language. The second option is a paid 14-week class offered periodically through Arrive, taught by native speakers of various refugee languages. Watch our website for specific languages offered. Whether you commit to studying with us for several months or simply attend a half-day training, our goal is the same. We want you to feel equipped to overcome language barriers and connect with your immigrant neighbors!
Cost: The 3-hour Method (GPA) class is free.
The 14-week class costs $250 per participant, paid at registration. Arrive uses this money to hire and pay language guides.
