Ways to get involved with other refugee friends:

Church Team or New Neighbor:

If you or your small group would like to walk alongside a family as they adjust to a new culture & rebuild their life in St. Cloud, either becoming a New Neighbor or gathering a team of people (4-6) from your church to become a Church Team is a great way to serve others. You will learn about cultures, grow in friendship, and be a reflection of Jesus as you welcome the stranger. To learn more of to volunteer in this way, please complete the Volunteer Application.

Homework Helpers:

Imagine moving to a foreign country and enrolling your kids into school there. How well could you help your kids with their homework while you were learning the language? We’ve seen the need, and we’re working to support families & kids thru tutoring and homework help. Volunteers help kids Tuesdays and Wednesdays 4:30-6:30pm. **DUE TO COVID-19, HOMEWORK HELPERS HAS MOVED ONLINE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE**

Sewing (for women):

Are you a proficient seamstress who would like to help others with their skills? We are looking for women who are willing and able to give of time and talent. Sewing meets weekly on Mondays  & Tuesdays during the school year, and in the evenings during Summer. Please complete the volunteer application & we will be in contact with additional details. **STAY TUNED FOR FALL 2020 INFO**

Somali Adult Literacy Training (SALT):

Join us, with the love of Jesus, in welcoming our new Somali neighbors. Consider meeting with a Somali man or woman once a week to build friendships as you help them learn English and achieve other goals like citizenship and employment. Your job is to learn their name, their family, their story and their goals. As you pray and coach them in literacy and English, you will help them become successful. In turn, you will share your story and have the joy of seeing their life and your own transformed.

Gardening (Seasonal):

Cultivating friendships and healthy food together. We seek to provide land and supplies for our new neighbors to be outside, grow healthy food, and interact with others outside their community. If you would like more information, please complete the volunteer application or email Samantha.
