Gratitude for our Partners

As a friend of Arrive Ministries you understand the plight of refugees throughout history and can identify with their suffering, resiliency, and determination. Despite changes taking place in the United States in the arena of refugee resettlement, we have seen growth, ongoing ministry creativity, and have been able to build on the foundation of having resettled, over the years, more than 11,000 refugees in Minnesota.

Through our Reception and Placement (R&P) program, in 2018 we welcomed new arrivals from 10 different countries. Because of God’s hand of blessing and your partnership, this year you have also encouraged us to:

• Equip and connect Refugee Life Ministries (RLM) church teams and New Neighbors to 47 refugee families and asylum-seekers have made their way to Minnesota. We also added staff in St. Cloud and are exploring ways to equip churches in other locations who desire to reach out with the love of Jesus to refugees and immigrants in their communities.
• Add staff and dozens of new volunteers to our Somali Adult Literacy Training (SALT) program. We have launched initiatives to aid in Bible translation and the production of dictionaries and literacy materials in some of the minority languages of Somali. More than 250 volunteers are weekly going into the homes of our new neighbors to share their lives and Jesus through literacy.
• Expand our Church Refugee Gardens outreach resulting in 2,100 garden plots utilized by refugee families at more than two dozen churches in the Twin Cities and St. Cloud.
• Serve over 1,000 clients through our Immigration Legal Services (ILS) program as we help our new neighbors apply for Green Cards, citizenship, travel documents and family-reunification. We also ran weekly ILS clinics at the Karen Organization of Minnesota and Bhutanese Community Organization of Minnesota.
• Find jobs for nearly 100 refugees through Refugee Employment Services (RES) and serve several dozen others through our Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) programs.
