Technology access and training are crucial services we offer newly-arrived refugees and immigrants. Our free classes are starting in the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, and Willmar this fall.
“Having help in the beginning to learn how to navigate the internet safely and securely is crucial for a refugee. It’s crucial in making a change that counts,” said Mihail, Arrive’s Technology Empowerment Coordinator.
Our free classes teach the basics of U.S. culture and systems, English, and technology to offer our new neighbors crucial skills needed to build a sustainable life in Minnesota.“In addition to teaching technology, we teach adult immigrants basic knowledge about the American culture and basic English skills,” said Sem, our Education Programs Manager.
“The computers, laptops, and internet training are foundational to achieving the American dream,” said Mihail, Technology Empowerment Coordinator.
“We want everybody who is coming here, not to wait for something, but to bring something into this society.”
Our free education classes offer our immigrant students a firm foundation to build upon, as we believe every new neighbor has something they can contribute to our communities.
“They are trying to build their own story, and access to laptops and the internet allows our immigrant students to gain skills at a foundational level,” said Mihail. “We want everyone who is coming here to be able to grow and be a strong part of our society.”
