A Biblical foundation for extending welcome to the foreigner.
What does the bible have to say about how we treat foreigners? This 3-week class (or half-day seminar style class) approaches scripture through the lens of the four overarching themes of the grand narrative and gives a brief biblical history of migration, looks at key passages that call us to welcome and care for the foreigner, defines immigration terms, and discusses a brief overview of the U.S. Immigration system and humanitarian pathways. Though we recognize that the topic of immigration involves differing perspectives, it’s most important to understand how God feels about it and how He is asking us to personally respond.

We offer a 3-hour Method training on the Growing Participator Approach, or GPA. GPA is a set of activities and methods that can be applied to learn any language.
You’ll leave with some activities you could try tomorrow to learn some words or phrases in your immigrant neighbor’s language. We want you to feel equipped to overcome language barriers and connect with your immigrant neighbors! It is available UPON REQUEST to groups of 10 or more at our office in Richfield or hosted at your church.
God created us for connection, but a language barrier is just that. It’s a barrier to developing relationships with people that God has created in his image. This class offers model for us to love our neighbors by overcoming cultural and language barriers and seeking to become like those we’re forming relationship with. In Language for Community Connection, we apply this model to language learning.
COMING IN 2027: Though we are not currently offering specific language courses, we aim to offer a paid, 14-week language class, taught by a native speaker of a refugee language in the coming year!

A one-day Vision Trip serves as an educational and experiential experience rather than a traditional service-focused trip. Participants learn about refugees and gain hands-on experience interacting with refugee and immigrant neighbors.
Our one-day vision trip is an educational and experiential trip, rather than a service-oriented trip. The idea is that you come and learn more about refugees, while also getting hands-on experience interacting with our refugee and immigrant neighbors in the community. This opportunity is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Arrive and how to connect with our newest neighbors.
Cost: The only cost involved is your bus fare ($2-4) as well as your lunch out with our immigrant neighbors ($15-20).
