Earlier this year All Peoples Church formed a Refugee Life Ministries team to welcome and walk alongside a newly-arriving family. From our first conversations with this new church plant, it was clear that they were passionate about engaging those around them to share Christ’s love through service and friendship.
The RLM team at All Peoples Church welcomed a Congolese family this winter, but shortly thereafter that family relocated out of state to join other family members. As is often the case with refugee resettlement work, this situation was very ambiguous and could have proven frustrating to the team. Nonetheless, the team members did not lose heart and remained committed to walking alongside a family that God would bring into their lives.
In late March All Peoples Church was back at MSP Airport to welcome a Karen family of nine. The team has been able to get to know this family by helping with appointments, teaching them basics about life in Minnesota, and spending time together doing fun activities like outdoor games and painting.
We often talk about being flexible in this ministry. Although we try to have every situation pre-determined, we know that things don’t always work out as planned. We know that in times of uncertainty God asks us to trust Him, His timing, and for Him to advance His Kingdom.
Thank you for praying for us, our teams, and the families we welcome!
