Ways to get involved with our refugee and immigrant friends:
Walk alongside refugee and asylum seeking families for one year
Good Neighbor. Befriend refugees and asylum seekers by providing practical support and life skills to those who have been forced to flee their homelands. This can be done as an individual, family or church team.
Teach sewing or other creative arts
Sewing and Arts Exchange. Our sewing and arts exchange classes exist as a creative space to develop new skills and friendships with our immigrant neighbors. To learn more about getting involved, please complete the volunteer interest form below.
Teach English to adult immigrants
English tutoring. Volunteers come alongside immigrant families to build friendship, share stories and help with literacy and English skills.
Provide homework help to school-age children
Homework Help. Befriend families through the avenue of homework help. Reading, writing, math, science – if tutoring in one of these subjects sounds fun, we have many families eager for your help! To learn more about getting involved, please complete the volunteer interest form below.
Host a church refugee garden
Gardening (seasonal). Cultivating friendships and grow healthy food together. Churches provide land and supplies for our new neighbors to be outside, grow healthy food, and interact with others outside their community. If you would like more information, email Melissa.
Party in the Park
Summer Picnics. A weekly gathering for our refugee and immigrant neighbors to gather at a park, hosted by a local church community.
