Now that SALT is offering an option to tutor Somali adults over zoom, we’ve been able to expand our reach to further corners of the state.
We celebrate that we now have two active tutors from the Iron Range!
One tutor from Hibbing wanted to be connected with a Somali student, and we were able to make that connection with a Somali student in the Twin Cities-area over Zoom. Soon after, this SALT tutor drove the 200 miles to the Twin Cities to spend time with her student in person.
The new tutor from Hibbing shared with us that she welcomes regular messages about Islam so she could learn more about the Muslim faith. In response, her Somali student has requested that her tutor sends her messages about Christianity; opening up the door to interfaith dialogue.
Our newest tutor from Hibbing has recruited a second tutor from her area. We celebrate that we now have two active tutors from the Iron Range!
