“I have always wanted to serve the Lord overseas, but every time I got ready to go I would get deathly ill. Time after time the door was not only closed, it was triple locked. But God kept telling me to trust him, and I prayed that somehow I could serve Him in a cross-cultural way.
When I learned of your Somali Adult Literacy Training (SALT) outreach, I prayed that I could be of service to it. …in God’s great mercy, He brought the Somali people to me. Over the last few years, I became so sick that I almost died, and I had multiple failed surgeries that left me bed ridden. During those four bed-ridden months, God and I had it out, and of course He won.
To make a long story short, in God’s great mercy, He brought the Somali people to me. I went to two training courses on teaching English as a second language (TESL) which I later learned were affiliated with SALT.
God knew I would never be able to leave America because of my health, and in His mercy, He brought three Somali women to my back yard. Today, I met a lovely Somali woman that I will be meeting with for tutoring twice a week. Samantha (Arrive Ministries’ St. Cloud Area Director) will be sending me books and we will start tutoring next week.
God knew I would never be able to leave America because of my health, and in His mercy, He brought three Somali women to my back yard. I feel as though I was handed a precious jewel today.
Thank you to SALT for your ministry training which has reached all the way to Little Falls, Minnesota.”
