A shared language allows us to connect with our Somali neighbors at a deeper level. Learning Somali can help us share Jesus with our Somali neighbors through friendship.
Connect will teach the fundamentals of language learning using the Growing Participator Approach (GPA), endorsed by Wycliffe Bible Translators. After this training, you will have the “nuts and bolts” you need to start learning Somali through the Phase 1A (beginning) stage of GPA. Participants will have the opportunity to sign up for a 15-week Somali language learning class, facilitated by SALT and taught by native speakers, starting in Spring 2019.
An optional lunch will be provided directly after the training, during which participants will have the opportunity to interact with local people already involved in Somali language learning via GPA.
