Opening of Willmar Arrive Ministries Site
We are very excited to share with you the opening of Willmar Arrive Ministries. With an official site in Willmar, we hope to expand the ways we can be a blessing to our neighbors, create opportunities for cross-cultural friendships, and carry out Arrive Ministries’ Vision: To love refugees and immigrants practically, socially, and spiritually, as we are transformed together by the Gospel.Arrive Ministries  has had a presence in Willmar for many years through the SALT (Somali Adult Literacy Training) Program. As the refugee and immigrant community has grown in Willmar, the opportunity for the Church to fulfill God’s call to welcome the stranger has grown as well.
Meet Your Willmar Area Coordinator: Jenny Groen

“My heart deeply connects with Arrive Ministries’ mission of extending biblical welcome and seeking life transformation in the lives of our refugee and immigrant neighbors and the Church,” says Jenny.

Jenny is originally from Willmar and moved back there as an adult with her husband and six children. She has been a long-time volunteer with Arrive Ministries in Willmar, helping start a sewing program for Somali women.

“We recruited women from our churches to teach sewing classes to refugee women. By creating this space to get to know one another, cross-cultural friendships flourished,” says Jenny.

“I feel so blessed to be serving in the Willmar community. I truly love this city and cannot wait to see all that God does in me, in this community, and in the Church. My family and I are looking forward to serving alongside so many of you as we extend welcome and love to our neighbors together.”

The Bridge Community Center in downtown Willmar is home to Willmar Arrive Ministries’ home office, as well as host many of the community events and programs offered by Arrive Ministries.
