Arrive Ministries staff and board are happy to announce the hiring of Mark Morgenstern as our new Executive Director. We welcome Mark in this role to lead our refugee resettlement organization during an exciting time of growth among staff and church involvement, and increased opportunities for impact in the refugee and immigrant communities.

Mark Morgenstern and his wife, Julie, have served as career missionaries: church-planting in Russia and Ukraine for 13 years, leading the training and development arm of ReachGlobal, the missions organization for the EFCA denomination, and for the past seven years as the founder and senior director of a global missionary training nonprofit, Grow2Serve.

Mark and Julie have four young adult sons, live in the South Metro, and worship at River Valley Church.

Mark is personally motivated to follow God’s call to welcome refugees and immigrants to Minnesota, based on his own family’s refugee origins; his grandparents were Jewish refugees from Europe who came to America and were welcomed by Mennonite Christians.

This transformative relationship led to their whole family becoming Christians. Being the grandson of persecuted refugees is significant to Mark’s identity and deeply informs his faith experience.

The board started its search process early in 2022, and we are grateful to Transform Minnesota’s president, Carl Nelson, for filling the role as the acting executive director during that time.

The board is confident that Mark’s capabilities in team leadership development and cross-cultural fluency, combined with his aptitude for operational management and strategic planning will serve Arrive Ministries staff, volunteers, clients and donors well.

Thank you for continuing to support and pray for Mark and Arrive Ministries staff as we continue the important work of showing love to our refugee and immigrant neighbors.
